About the Elementary Instructional Coach Position

Our elementary instructional coach builds the teacher capacity and understanding of curriculum, assessment and instructional practice for Bangladeshi elementary teachers. The coach will promote high-quality instruction in classrooms through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching and providing feedback to teachers. All instruction is in English and based around an American style curriculum. The elementary instructional coach will plan and implement professional development to increase the effectiveness of the core instruction. The coach will teach and demonstrate best practices and introduce research to teachers and administrators. Prior teaching experience is required.

Located in the second largest city in the country, William Carey Academy is a Christian school that provides English-medium instruction using an American curriculum to approximately 325 students in grades K-12. The goal of the school is to provide a model of international-standard education which will prepare students for study at world-class universities. The school was founded in 1996 and in 2006 the first graduation was held. The student body is 90% Bangladeshi and 10% foreign students from Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist families. William Carey Academy draws staff from both Bangladesh and abroad.

In addition to the total monthly stipend of $300, the school is able to offer free housing in apartments within walking distance of the school. William Carey Academy contracts out expatriate staffing recruitment to TeachBeyond.
